Inner Monologs

Big Ramp presents Inner Monologs, a solo exhibition by Rhode Island-based artist Nick Carter. Inner Monologs explores visions of illusionistic space made possible by textile craft processes and materials. This new series of works, made of dyed cotton canvas and dyed cotton thread on wood frames, affirms a painting as both a physical object and a window. Using processes that balance control and entropy, each piece is designed, constructed, and revised, until it solidifies into a hallucinatory aperture of something otherwise concealed.
